As an art historian, I am very comfortable speaking about artists from many periods of western art. On the other hand, it can be a challenge to talk about my own work as an artist. Nevertheless, I agreed to present a spoken-word performance piece about the birth of an artwork by Marcy B. Freedman, from conception to delivery. My presentation was a part of an event hosted by a literary and performing arts organization called Embark/Peekskill. I was proud to participate!
