As a follow-up to my Women Series, I created the Men Series. I started each collage by cutting up a poster of a famous painting of a male figure. (In this case, I used a Picasso portrait from his Blue Period.) I included enough of the image to make it legible, but left blank spaces in the composition. I then filled the blanks with a text written in response to the image. Sometimes my writings were humorous. This time, I invented a sad description of the person that Picasso chose to immortalize in paint.
