In the late nineties, I created a large body of work known as The Women Series. I cut up posters of great works of art by MEN that represented WOMEN. I added a text of my own invention, based upon my reactions to the female personage depicted. (The format — rectangles in a grid — was derived from my previous work with grids of actual Polaroid photographs.)
