The works in this series were constructed from the remnants of other projects, and they are — in my opinion — really beautiful.
And yet, there is more to each of my collages than the “simple” design of lines and shapes and colors and textures into a satisfying composition. In each work, the component parts are pieces of a poster showing a painting by a particular artist (or artists). Most people can tell which little snippets in my collages have come from Lichtenstein or DeKooning or Degas, etc. I think it is amazing that the artist’s “hand” is still apparent within my reconfiguration of their artwork.
